ABout me

  • I was born in Los Angeles in 1983. My family and I moved to the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in DC in 1985, and we’ve put down roots here ever since. I reside in Ward 4, I love mumbo sauce, and DC will always be home.

  • I attended all DC Public Schools during my childhood: Oyster Bilingual Elementary, Alice Deal Junior High, and Woodrow Wilson High School. My experiences in public education in DC were incredibly diverse, exposing me to people from a myriad of cultures, nationalities, and all different walks of life. To this day, I credit those formative years for helping me to develop a keen understanding of the world around me and my desire to make a positive impact in it.

  • My bilingual upbringing helped shape my world view by allowing me the opportunity to communicate and build relationships with people from all over the world. Understanding the rich history and importance of our culture and community in DC, it’s critical for our congressional leaders to speak with and understand ALL of their constituents - not just a fraction of them.

  • We must prioritize bilingual leaders who can speak with constituents in multiple languages. How can we ensure that the entire DC community can move forward if we’re not hearing everyone’s needs? The short answer is that we can’t do it without diverse and bilingual leadership. When I’m in office next year: SI SE PUEDE.
