FAMILY FIRST
building our community from within
Today our society seems more divided than ever. Above all else, there is a lack of understanding and compassion, a feeling that our core American family values are fading away.
Many of us are asking ourselves and others: how do we move forward from here?
The answers aren’t coming from our currently elected officials, that’s for sure. They aren’t coming from the president, from the media, or even from the upcoming election which we know is so important.
In fact, the answers to that question aren’t coming from anywhere outside of you and me: people working together towards common goals and dreams to improve our collective future and our children’s lives.
The call to action is loud and clear. We must build ourselves up from within, person by person, family by family, and community by community.
As Washingtonians, we must understand our rich history of leading positive progress and pushing difficult changes in America. Today we can show the country how to move forward, but first we have to take responsibility for ourselves and accountability for our future success.
What does that mean? It means to go the extra mile. Listen more, give back, acquire more knowledge, learn new skill sets, apply yourself to serve our city, and repeat, repeat, repeat.
Let’s set forth some new American family values: honesty, dignity, integrity and self-respect.
